Hiring: Sr. Coordinator, Communications & Alliance Community

Position Overview

This role is pivotal in engaging with prospective and current participants in Alliance programming and the broader community to promote understanding of health policy. The Senior Coordinator, Communications & Alliance Community will facilitate participant engagement, foster community engagement, and support initiatives that advance our mission. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of strong relationship management along with a service mindset. 

Key Responsibilities:

Participant Engagement

  • Drive the  process for goal setting, role assignment, milestone identification, work plan development and implementation of strategies to recruit and engage participants in the organization’s programs and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain journeys and work plans aimed at keeping sponsors and donors informed about organizational activities, achievements, and upcoming events and benefits
  • Manage and maintain participant lists/data in HubSpot.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants, addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Incorporate high-engagement activities into Alliance programs to deliver an excellent experience and strengthen community participation.

Community Coordination

  • Develop and manage segmented communities of participants and potential participants, and with specific roles and interests in Alliance programming. 
  • Contribute to development of media engagement strategies, message development and support speaking engagements, media interviews, and community events. Coordinate internal team strategy and workplan.
  • Cultivate relationships with key Alliance communities, such as health policy media, health policy student groups, and others who are key attendees/participants in Alliance programming. 
  • Align content development and calendar with specific communities’ needs and interests, including fundraising campaigns. 

Event Coordination and Support

  • Own and coordinate work plans for participant experience at  community events, workshops, and informational sessions that engage participants and the broader community.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for events, including materials preparation, setting and reaching participant/audience composition goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop event content and ensure effective delivery.
  • Contribute to cross-functional planning meetings, including goal setting, role identification, milestone planning. 

Communication and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain communication plans to keep participants and community stakeholders informed about organizational activities, events, and opportunities for involvement.
  • Maintain and oversee content calendar for organization and all public facing channels. 
  • Prepare reports and updates on participant engagement, community outreach efforts, and program impact.
  • Create social media content, including graphics and other communication materials, to promote engagement.
  • Maintain the allhealthpolicy.org website including, but not limited too, updated content, user experience and functionality through WordPress and other tools. 
  • Prepare segmented community and engagement reports through our website and channels using analytic tools (i.e. Google Analytics, HubSpot)

Program Support

  • Work with program managers to support the implementation and evaluation of programs and initiatives.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from participants to inform program improvements and ensure responsiveness to community needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant interactions, engagement activities, and community partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in public health, social work, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in community engagement, participant coordination, or a related role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • History of applied diplomacy in managing relationships. 
  • Highly developed personal and social competence skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances. 
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of strong relationship management along with a service mindset. 
  • Proficiency in using communication and project management tools, such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Slack, Monday.com, and HubSpot.
  • Experience contributing to campaigns, content strategy, deploying CRM
  • Proficiency in marketing channels and methods for targeted emailing and community outreach
  • Ability to create Alliance-brand compatible designed slides, LinkedIn posts, email outreach via Canva or a similar design platform. 
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization, including nonpartisanship, and integrity.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $67,000-72,000. Our outstanding benefits package includes:

  • Platinum-level medical, and dental and vision insurance with 80% employer-paid premium subsidy for employees and 50% subsidy for family members

  • $2 for $1 retirement contribution match, up to 10% of salary, with immediate vesting

Location and Working Arrangements

This full-time position in downtown Washington, DC, offers hybrid and in-person work arrangements, with a minimum of two days of in-office work generally expected. In our hybrid workplace, we rely on a variety of tools like Monday.com and HubSpot to manage programs and communities effectively, ensuring continuity and coordination across our teams.
