Hiring: Coordinator, Sponsor & Donor Community

Position Overview

This position will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with sponsors and donors, ensuring their engagement and support for our mission. The Coordinator, Sponsor & Donor Community will play a crucial role in driving fundraising efforts, managing sponsorships, and fostering a community of supporters. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of successful fundraising and sponsorship development along with a service mindset. 

Key Responsibilities:

Sponsor and Donor Relationship Management:

  • Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with current and potential sponsors and donors.
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to enhance sponsor and donor loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors and donors, addressing inquiries and providing updates on organizational activities and impact.

Fundraising and Sponsorship Development:

  • Collaborate on the strategic development of benefit design, prospecting, and fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development and Production to execute fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for sponsorship and develop customized proposals to attract and retain sponsors.
  • Manage sponsorship agreements, ensuring all deliverables are met and sponsors receive appropriate recognition and benefits.

Event Coordination and Support:

  • Coordinate and support events, including fundraising events, donor appreciation events, and community outreach activities.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and track costs and contracts against budgets. 
  • Ensure logistical arrangements for events, including venue selection, catering, and material preparation.
  • Coordinate across the organization to develop event-related materials, such as invitations, programs, and promotional content.
  • Contribute to cross-functional planning meetings, including goal setting, role identification, milestone planning. 
  • Execute on work plans,  broader team information sharing, managing deadlines and achieving milestones.   

Communication and Reporting:

  • With oversight from the Director of Development and Production, develop and maintain journeys and work plans aimed at keeping sponsors and donors informed about organizational activities, achievements, and upcoming events and benefits.
  • Prepare reports and updates on fundraising progress, sponsorship impact, and donor engagement metrics.
  • Assist in the creation of donor outreach, report milestones and figures, and other communication materials.

Database and Record Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sponsors and donors, including contact information, donation history, and engagement activities.
  • Utilize donor management software (HubSpot) to track interactions and generate reports.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices in donor management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, sponsorship management, or a related role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • History of applied diplomacy in managing relationships. 
  • Highly developed personal and social competence skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising and sponsorship development along with a service mindset. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Experience in event planning and execution, with a focus on donor and sponsor engagement.
  • Proficiency in using communication and project management tools, such as Microsoft Office, Slack, Monday.com, and HubSpot. 
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization, including nonpartisanship, and integrity.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software and project management tools, such as HubSpot or similar platforms.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $60,000-$66,000. Our outstanding benefits package includes:

Location and Working Arrangements

This full-time position in downtown Washington, DC, offers hybrid and in-person work arrangements, with a minimum of two days of in-office work generally expected. In our hybrid workplace, we rely on a variety of tools like Monday.com and HubSpot to manage programs and communities effectively, ensuring continuity and coordination across our teams.
